Independent Consultants in Audiovisual Technology (ICAT) Council

Mission
Serves members who are independent design consultants. Council members share insights and information about consulting for audio, video, and telecommunications facilities and systems design.

Activities and Goals

  • The Construction Specifications Institute has issued the revised MasterFormat. Low-voltage-related technologies are referenced mainly in Division 27. The full MasterFormat may be accessed from http://www.csinet.org/, or you may download a PDF of the AV subsections.
  • ICAT plans on developing a set of agreements using contract language that could be used to protect the intellectual property of all entities involved in an AV project.

See the AV Consultant's Reference Library Bibliography compiled by Scott Walker, CTS-D, and Tim Lindstrom, CTS, RCDD, CDT, CSI.

Members wishing to join ICAT must fill out an application to be reviewed by the ICAT Membership Subcommittee. Applicants are notified within two weeks.
