Many companies have considered creating a business development function and some have actually done so — only to be disappointed with the outcomes. In an idea-packed and interactive roundtable hour, this session will look at what business development is and is not, how to establish the function, how to staff it, how to compensate the people performing it, how to track and measure results, what performance expectations and boundaries to set, how "business development" inter-relates with other departments (especially sales) and some pitfalls to avoid.
